NUTR 5016 - Micronutrients (3)This course is designed to provide an advanced level of understanding of the role of micronutrients, primarily vitamins and minerals, in human health. Although the main emphasis of the course is, the study of the regulation of metabolic pathways by micronutrients in healthy individuals, mechanisms leading to failure of these processes and subsequent consequences (pathophysiological conditions) will also be presented. Micronutrient mediated gene expression and the genome dependent regulation of micronutrient metabolism will be presented. Prerequisite(s): NUTR 5010 , NUTR 5011 , NUTR 5012 , and NUTR 5013 with a grade of B or better.
