CD 4506 - Introduction to Language Disorders Across the Lifespan (3) This course provides an overview of the nature, causes, and characteristics of language disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. Students will examine a wide range of developmental and acquired language disorders, including those related to early childhood, school-age, and adult populations. Emphasis is placed on identifying key features of language disorders, understanding their impact on communication and daily functioning, and introducing principles of assessment and intervention across settings. Requires 8 clock hours of clinical observation. Prerequisite(s): Admission to the undergraduate program in speech-language pathology. Fall, Spring.
