Transfer Guide JCCC AA to UCM BS Computer Science: Software Development Option

The below courses are required for BS Computer Science majors and can be fulfilled at JCCC as part of the AA requirements. If these courses are not taken at JCCC, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of JCCC AA requirements can be found in the JCCC Catalog.

Students who transfer to UCM with an Associate of Arts degree will be considered to have met all general education requirements, except those specifically required by the major (see UCM General Education Requirements below, if applicable).

AA General Education Requirements: 30 Semester Hours


AA Elective Options: 30 Semester Hours


Minimum Total Hours Required for JCCC AA: 60 Semester Hours


UCM BS Computer Science: Software Development Option


The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate of Arts degree. Any courses listed above not taken at JCCC must be completed as part of BS requirements.

Major Requirements: 30-48 Semester Hours


Software Development Option: 9-27 Semester Hours


Electives from the Following: 9-24 Semester Hours

Three (3) hours can be fulfilled at JCCC with completion of CS 4120. The following courses are additional elective options.

General Education Requirements: 3 Semester Hours


The following general education classes are required for this major:

Free Choice Electives: 9-27 Semester Hours


Free choice elective hours may vary depending on transfer coursework and course selection at UCM.

Students must take at least 30 upper-level (3000/4000) hours to graduate. Courses taken at JCCC that articulate to upper-level UCM courses do not count towards upper-level hours.

Minimum Total Hours Required for BS: 120 Semester Hours
