The below courses are required for BS Criminal Justice and Criminology majors and can be fulfilled at LCC as part of the AS Criminal Justice requirements. If any of the below courses are not taken at LCC, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of LCC AS requirements can be found in the LCC Catalog.
Only courses with a grade of C or better (including transfer courses) may be used to fulfill a core requirement in any major or minor offered exclusively by the Department of Criminal Justice.
Students who transfer to UCM with a completed Associate of Science degree will need to complete the General Education program at UCM (see the UCM General Education Requirements listed at the bottom of this guide).
Major Requirements: 15 Semester Hours
Courses must be completed with a C or higher.
General Education Requirements: 12 Semester Hours
The following General Education coursework will need to be completed at UCM.
- Knowledge Area I (6 hours)
- Knowledge Area II (3 hours)
- Knowledge Area III (3 hours)
Free Choice Electives: 32 Semester Hours
Free choice elective hours may vary depending on transfer coursework and course selection at UCM.
Students must complete a minimum of 30 upper-level hours (3000/4000). Courses taken at LCC that transfer to UCM as upper-level courses do not count towards upper-level hours.
Minimum Total Hours Required for BS: 120 Semester Hours
