Transfer Guide Crowder AA to BS Criminal Justice & Criminology

The below courses are required for Criminal Justice and Criminology majors and can be fulfilled at Crowder as part of the AA Criminal Justice requirements. If any of the below courses are not taken at Crowder, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of AA requirements can be found in the Crowder College catalog.

Students who transfer to UCM with a completed Associate of Arts degree are considered to have met all general education requirements at UCM, except for those specifically required by the major (see UCM General Education Requirements below for these courses, if applicable).

AA General Education Requirements: 43 Semester Hours

Criminal Justice Courses: 18 Semester Hours


Electives: 3 Semester Hours


Choose from:

  • CJ 270 Drug Investigation (3) transfers as   (fulfills 3 hours CJ electives at UCM)
  • CJ 102 Crime Scene Processing (3) transfers as ELCT L801 Lower-level CJ Elective (fulfills 3 hours CJ electives at UCM)

Minimum Total Hours Required for Crowder AA: 64 Semester Hours


*Course must be completed with a C or higher.

UCM BS Criminal Justice and Criminology


The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate of Arts degree. Any courses listed above not taken at Crowder must be completed at UCM.

Free Choice Electives: 29 Semester Hours


Free choice elective hours may vary depending on transfer coursework and course selection at UCM. Hours must reach at least 120 overall with at least 30 at upper-level.

Upper-level courses have course numbers in the 3000’s or 4000’s. Courses taken at Crowder that transfer to UCM as upper-level courses do NOT count towards upper-level hours.

Minimum Total Hours Required for BS: 120 Semester Hours
