Social Work Major, BSW Degree - 120 Hours


  • COMM 1000  is strongly recommended.
  • ** UNIV 1400  (1 hr) is highly recommended for academic success. UNIV 1400  is a free choice elective. If UNIV 1400  is chosen, 1 less hour of free choice electives will be needed.
  • *** CTE 2060  or MGT 3325  is strongly recommended. CTE 2060  will fulfill the Writing II requirement in general education or three hours of free choice electives if ENGL 1030  is chosen for Writing II in general education. MGT 3325  will fulfill three hours of free choice electives.
  • All Junior and Senior level courses (3000/4000) in the major are taught at the Summit Center (in Lee’s Summit) only one semester each year. Check for course projections if you are interested in taking classes at the Summit Center.
  • Credit will not be given for life or previous work experience for courses required in the social work major.
