The Greenhouse Management undergraduate certificate program provides students with core competencies required to effectively manage a greenhouse. Certificate allows for a selection of topics including: greenhouse crop production, bedding plant production, greenhouse operations and procedures, horticulture, horticulture business, plant propagation, and soils and fertilizers.
Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:
- Perform identification, care, and maintenance for commonly grown crops in the greenhouse environment.
- Operate lighting, heating, cooling, irrigation systems necessary to maintain the proper growing environment.
- Design management strategies for the successful production and marketing of greenhouse crops.
To apply for admission for the certificate in Greenhouse Management, the following items must be submitted:
- Admitted to the university as a degree-seeking or certificate-seeking student.
- Application for the certificate in Greenhouse Management.
A maximum of six hours of transfer credit may be applied toward requirements in the certificate in Greenhouse Management. Courses taken toward the undergraduate certificate program may be applied to a UCM Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Science.
