The Agritourism undergraduate certificate program is designed to provide students with practical, managerial, and theoretical skills needed for the successful creation and management of an agritourism operation.
Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:
- Recognize animal and plant production resources and enterprises profitable to agritourism operations.
- Identify institutions and partnerships available in the region that are effective in assisting event and operational planning for agritourism enterprises.
- Analyze potential agritourism and event uses within the natural and cultural resources of selected geographic regions.
- Outline and execute necessary components to agritourism event planning, design, and delivery.
To apply for admission for the certificate in Agritourism, the following items must be submitted:
- Admitted to the university as a degree-seeking or certificate-seeking student.
- Application for the certificate in Agritourism.
A maximum of six hours of transfer credit may be applied toward requirements in the certificate in Agritourism. Courses taken toward the undergraduate certificate program may be applied to a UCM Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Science.
*This certificate may have courses in common with other UCM agriculture undergraduate certificates. A student may earn more than one UCM agriculture undergraduate certificate, but a student may not duplicate more than three credit hours between any two undergraduate agriculture certificates.
