Electrified Vehicle Systems Certificate (10-5602) (13 Hours)

Location(s): Warrensburg Campus


**This certificate is effective Spring 2026**

The Electrified Vehicle Systems undergraduate certificate program will provide the student with a solid foundation in the theory, operation, and safety requirements of battery-electric, hybrid, and hydrogen-fueled vehicles.

Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:

  • Explain the theory, operation, and safety requirements of battery-electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and hydrogen-fueled vehicles.
  • Identify and explain the operation of Electrified Vehicle (EV) powertrain and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) components.
  • Safely isolate, disable, and troubleshoot the onboard high-voltage and associated advanced systems.

Application Process

To apply for admission for the certificate in Electrified Vehicle Systems, the following items must be submitted:

  1. Admitted to the university as a degree-seeking or certificate-seeking student. 
  2. Application for the certificate in Electrified Vehicle Systems.

A maximum of six hours of transfer credit may be applied toward requirements in the certificate in Electrified Vehicle Systems.  Courses taken toward the undergraduate certificate program may be applied to a UCM Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree.
