Major, Bachelor of Applied Science Degree

The graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree will use the knowledge and skills obtained in the programs to:

  • Identify and critically assess major issues within the discipline.
  • Apply knowledge and skills to real-world situations and problems.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to convey information and ideas clearly.

The Bachelor of Applied Science degree is designed for students who have previously earned an Associate of Applied Science degree and are ready to further their education.

Admission Requirements: 

  • Completion of an Associate of Applied Science Degree

Bachelor of Applied Science, BAS (38-1010) (2 Year Guide)  

Major Requirements: 33-39 Semester Hours


Areas: 30-36 Semester Hours


Select one or more of the following of areas. Students must complete a minimum of 30 hours of approved area coursework and all coursework in a selected area.

Government, Law, and International Affairs (BS08): 15 Semester Hours


International Affairs (BS09): 15 Semester Hours


General Education Requirements: 42 Semester Hours


All students must complete a minimum of 42 credit hours in general education. See The General Education Program Requirements  for the full listing of requirements.

Free Electives: 39-45 Semester Hours


Minimum Total: 120 Semester Hours
