Transfer Guide DCC AAS to UCM BS Automotive Technology Management

AAS General Education Requirements: 15 Semester Hours

The below courses can be taken as part of the general education program at DCC. If these courses are not taken at DCC, they must be completed at UCM.

Note: All students must complete a minimum of 42 credit hours in general education. Students who transfer to UCM with an AAS degree will need to complete the general education program at UCM. • ECON 201 Macroeconomics transfers as  ECON 1010 - Principles of Macroeconomics GE (3)

AAS Required Courses: 38 Semester Hours

The below courses are required for Automotive Technology Management majors and will be taken as part of the required courses for the AAS Motor Vehicle Technology (General Automotive Concentration) degree at DCC. If these courses are not taken at DCC, they must be completed at UCM.

• MOVH 101 Introduction to Motor Vehicle Technology transfers as  ATM 1010 - Contemporary Power Systems (3: 2 lecture, 1 lab) (required for all Areas)*
• MOVH 154 Brake Systems AND MOVH 156 Brake Systems Laboratory transfers as  ATM 2124 - Automotive Braking Systems (4: 2 lecture, 2 lab) (required for all Areas)*
• MOVH 231 Advanced Electrical and Electronics AND MOVH 233 Advanced Electrical and Electronics Laboratory transfers as  ATM 2130 - Automotive Electrical Systems (4: 2 lecture, 2 lab) (required for all Areas)*
• MOVH 217 Steering and Suspension Systems AND MOVH 219 Steering and Suspension Systems Laboratory transfers as  ATM 3120 - Steering and Suspension Systems (4: 2 lecture, 2 lab) (required for all Areas)*

AAS Approved Electives: 9 Semester Hours

The below courses are required for Automotive Technology Management majors and can be taken as part of the AAS Approved Electives at DCC. If these courses are not taken at DCC, they must be completed at UCM.

• MOVH 260 Climate Control Systems AND MOVH 262 Climate Control Systems Laboratory transfers as  ATM 2150 - Mobile Heating, Ventilating, Air-Conditioning (Mobile HVAC) (3: 2 lecture, 1 lab) (required for Area 1)*
• MOVH 244 Automatic Transmissions AND MOVH 246 Automatic Transmissions Lab transfers as  ATM 4110 - Automatic Transmissions (3: 2 lecture, 1 lab) (required for Area 1)*

Minimum Total Hours Required for DCC AAS: 62 Hours

Major Requirements: 41-51 Semester Hours

Students must receive a grade of C or better in all required courses with the ATM prefix in order for the course to count toward the major.

General Education Requirements: 22 Semester Hours

The following general education classes are required by this major:

• CIS 1600 - Business Information Management GE (3)
• COMM 1000 - Public Speaking GE (3)
• CS 1030 - Introduction to Computer Programming GE (3)
• CTE 3060 - Technical Writing GE (3)
• MATH 1111 - College Algebra GE (3)
• PHYS 1104 - Introduction to the Sciences: Physics GE (4: 4 lecture, 0 lab)

Upper-Level (3000/4000) Electives

Upper-level (3000/4000) elective hours may vary depending on transfer coursework and course selection at UCM. Students must take at least 30 upper-level hours to graduate. Courses taken at DCC that articulate to upper-level UCM courses do not count towards upper-level hours.

Minimum Total Hours Required for BS: 120-124 Semester Hours

*Students must receive a grade of C or better in all required courses with the ATM prefix in order for the course to count toward the major.
