Transfer Guide State Tech AAS General Option to UCM BS Automotive Technology Management

AAS General Education Requirements: 19 Semester Hours

The below courses can be taken as part of the general education program at State Tech. If these courses are not taken at State Tech, they must be completed at UCM.

Note: All students must complete a minimum of 42 credit hours in general education. Students who transfer to UCM with an AAS degree will need to complete the general education program at UCM. See The General Education Program Requirements  for full listing of requirements at UCM.

• COM 121 Public Speaking transfers as  COMM 1000 - Public Speaking GE (3)
• MAT 115 College Algebra transfers as  MATH 1111 - College Algebra GE (3)
• PHY 101 College Physics AND PHY 102 College Physics Lab transfers as  PHYS 1104 - Introduction to the Sciences: Physics GE (4: 4 lecture, 0 lab)

AAS Automotive Technology Core Curriculum: 29 Semester Hours

The below courses are required for BS Automotive Technology Management majors and may be taken as part of the core curriculum requirements for the AAS degree at State Tech. If these courses are not taken at State Tech, they must be completed at UCM.

• AMT 120 Project Management transfers as  ATM 1010 - Contemporary Power Systems (3: 2 lecture, 1 lab) (required for all Areas)*
• AMT 101 Automotive Electrical/Electronics I transfers as  ET 1010 - Applied Electricity (4: 3 lecture, 1 lab) (required for all Areas)
• AMT 253 Automotive Drivetrains and Axles transfers as  ATM 2140 - Manual Drivelines (3: 2 lecture, 1 lab) (required for Area 1)*

AAS General Option Requirements: 20 Semester Hours

The below courses are required for BS Automotive Technology Management majors and may be taken as part of the General Option requirements for the AAS degree at State Tech. If these courses are not taken at State Tech, they must be completed at UCM.

• AMT 138 Automotive Electrical/Electronics II transfers as  ATM 2130 - Automotive Electrical Systems (4: 2 lecture, 2 lab) (required for all Areas)*
• AMT 214 Automotive Electrical/Electronics III transfers as  ATM 3130 - Engine Performance II (4: 2 lecture, 2 lab) (required for all Areas)*
• AMT 207 Heating/Air Conditioning transfers as  ATM 2150 - Mobile Heating, Ventilating, Air-Conditioning (Mobile HVAC) (3: 2 lecture, 1 lab) (required for Area 1)*

AAS Graduation Requirements: 1 Semester Hour

Minimum Total Hours Required for State Tech AAS: 69 Semester Hours

Major Requirements: 60-63 Semester Hours

Students must receive a grade of C or better in all required courses with the ATM prefix in order for the course to count toward the major.

General Education Requirements: 15 Semester Hours

The following general education classes are required by this major:

• CIS 1600 - Business Information Management GE (3)
• CS 1030 - Introduction to Computer Programming GE (3)
• CTE 3060 - Technical Writing GE (3)
• ECON 1010 - Principles of Macroeconomics GE (3)

Upper-Level (3000/4000) Electives

Upper-level (3000/4000) elective hours may vary depending on transfer coursework and course selection at UCM. Students must take at least 30 upper-level hours to graduate. Courses taken at State Tech that articulate to upper-level UCM courses do not count towards upper-level hours.
