ACCT 4101 - Managing Decision Making Using Excel (3)

his course is designed to prepare students to make decisions based on cost accounting information.  Specifically, the course covers decision making based on economic concepts, how the methods accountants employ to measure costs influence the decision making process, how to use Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and clearly present large data sets, and finally how principal- agent theory affects the outcomes of decisions made.  After successfully completing this course, students should be able to competently make decisions when presented with accounting data.  Students should also be able to minimize goal incongruence, thereby increasing the chances that their decisions will be carried out. This course is co-listed with ACCT 5100. Prerequisite(s): ACCT 2102  with a grade of C or better. An additional fee is associated with this course.
