EDFL 4535  -  Assessment of English Language Learners in K-12 (3)

This course explores assessment of English Language Learners (ELLs) in K-12 schools in the United States. Candidates are introduced to the core concepts and terminology concerning assessment, different forms of assessment, assessment procedures for identifying and placing ELLs in English Language Development (ELD) programs and exiting them from these programs, and the concept of fair, effective and appropriate language and content assessments for ELLs in K-12. This course is co-listed with EDFL 5535. Prerequisite(s): Consent of advisor. Spring.
