Transfer Guide MCC AAS to UCM BS Computer Science, Software Development Option

The below courses are required for students pursuing the BS degree in Computer Science: Software Development and can be fulfilled at MCC as part of the AAS Computer Science and Information Systems: Software Development requirements. If these courses are not completed at MCC, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of MCC AAS requirements can be found in the MCC catalog.

Students who transfer to UCM with an AAS degree will need to complete the general education program at UCM, and will have all coursework evaluated on a course-by-course basis. You may find the listing of courses from MCC that transfer to UCM as specific general education requirements here: MCC General Education Articulations  

AAS General Education Requirements: 18-23 Semester Hours


The below courses can be taken as part of the AAS general education program at MCC and fulfill UCM requirements.

AAS Computer Science and Info Systems: Software Development Requirements: 42 Semester Hours


Specific Program Requirements: 9 Semester Hours


Emphasis Area: 34 Semester Hours


Minimum Total Hours Required for MCC AAS: 61-66 Semester Hours


UCM BS Computer Science: Software Development Option


The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an AAS degree. Any courses listed above not taken at MCC must be completed as part of the BS requirements.

Software Development Option: 21 Semester Hours


General Education Requirements: 21 Semester Hours


21 out of 42 required hours can be fulfilled at MCC with completion of the AAS degree (see above). For full list of requirements, see The General Education Program Requirements .

Additional hours may be required depending on transfer coursework and course selection at UCM.

Students must take at least 30 upper-level (3000/4000) hours to graduate. Courses taken at MCC that articulate to upper-level UCM courses do not count towards upper-level hours.

Minimum Total Hours Required for BS: 120 Semester Hours
