Note: Students who do not choose to earn the Peace Corps Certificate****, must complete both  (3) and 120 validated volunteer****** hours.  The volunteer hours must be for one non-profit organization and must be approved in advance by the Management program coordinator and the HCBPS Internship***** coordinator.  Students must earn a 2.5 or higher GPA and have 60 credit hours completed to enroll in internship and for volunteer hours to be approved.

Junior Year - Fall Semester


Management Major (Area 4: Entrepreneurship & Social Enterprise), BSBA Degree - 120 Hours


  • * Students in this major must complete eight preadmission courses with a grade of C or higher and must obtain a 2.25 cumulative GPA and a 2.25 in these specific courses, for admission to the degree program. These courses are recommended for completion during the freshman and sophomore years. These courses are indicated with an (*).

  • 10 This course fulfills Competency 10 - Integration in the General Education program. The hours count in the major, not in general education.
  • A 2.25 cumulative GPA is required for graduation in this major.
  • To satisfy the General Education Assessment (GEA) Policy, students must take the GEA after they earn 60 credit hours but before earning 75 credit hours. Transfer students who have more than 60 hours earned should take the exam during their second semester at UCM. Students must achieve a passing score of 425 to meet graduation requirements.   • ****Peace Corps Prep Certificate (see https://www.ucmo.edu/offices/peace-corps/) The Peace Corps Prep Certificate is awarded by the Peace Corps.  BSBA in Management majors, through their major courses will meet #6 Community and Economic Development sector requirements.  Foreign language is encouraged but preparation depends on future service plans.  Intercultural Competence is met by choosing either  or  and six (6) additional credits in Intercutural Competence, some of which are also General Education courses.  Further, the Diversity and Inclusion Emphasis incudes 6 credits which include options from the Peace Corps Intercultural Competence list.  A BSBA in Management should be able to complete the Peace Corps Prep Certificate with a maximum of 9 credits; not including foreign language.  The Peace Corps Prep Certificate also requires substantive interculltural experience.   See the Peace Corps Prep Coordinator or the Management Coordinator to discuss this requirement further. Lastly, there are non-credit professional and leadership development requirements for the Peace Corps Prep Certificate.  Peace Corps Prep Certificate:  (0-1 credits) or  (0-1 credits). Validated Volunteer Hours:  (0-1 credits) or  (0-1 credits)
  • *****Internships. Students who choose an internship must have an overall cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above (4.00 scale) before they can enroll in their internship.  Additionally, students must meet the following requirements for internship: 21 UCM credit hours completed (minimum), 60 credit hours of university credit (minimum), 2.50 (or above) overall GPA, complete pre-internship paperwork and processes with HCBPS Internship Office.
  • ******Volunteer hours for Area 4 must not be the same organization as internship for which the student earns credit, if internship is chosen.  See Management Coordinator and HCBPS Internship Coordinator before starting volunteer hours. Upon completion of the Peace Corps Certificate or validated volunteer hours, students will be enrolled in a special topics course to indicate the completion of the requirement in the Degree Audit.  See the Management Program Coordinator for more information.
