Transfer Guide MCC AA to UCM BS Criminal Justice and Criminology

The below courses are required for Criminal Justice and Criminology majors and can be fulfilled at MCC as part of the AA requirements. If the below courses are not taken at MCC they must be completed at UCM. The full list of MCC AA requirements can be found in the MCC Catalog.
Students who transfer to UCM with a completed Associate in Arts degree will be considered to have met all general education requirements except for those specificaly required by the major (see UCM General Education Requirements section below, if applicable).
AA General Education Requirements: 42 Semester Hours

AA Elective Options: 18 Semester Hours
- CRJU 101 Introduction to Criminal Justice (3) transfers as CJ 1000 - Introduction to Criminal Justice GE (3)
- PARA 126 Criminal Law and Procedures (3) transfers as CJ 2300 - Criminal Law and Procedure (3)
- CRJU 215 Juvenile Law (3) transfers as CJ 2700 - Introduction to Juvenile Justice (3)
- CRJU 165 Criminology (3) transfers as CJ 4503 - Criminology (3)
- Choose from (these courses fulfill required CJ electives at UCM): CRJU 162, CRJU 169, CRJU 223, CRJU 228, PARA 176, PARA 177, PARA 185, PARA 224, PARA 278, PARA 279, PARA 283
Minimum Total Hours Required for MCC AA: 60 Hours
UCM BS Criminal Justice and Criminology
The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate in Arts degree. Any courses listed above not taken at MCC must be completed as part of BS requirements.
Major Requirements: 27 Semester Hours
Free Choice Electives: 33 Semester Hours
Free choice elective hours may vary depending on transfer coursework and course selection at UCM.
Students must take at least 30 upper-level (3000/4000) hours to graduate. Courses taken at MCC that articulate to upper-level UCM courses do not count towards upper-level hours.
Minimum Total Hours Required for BS: 120 Semester Hours
