Transfer Guide NCMC AA to UCM BSE Elementary Education: Grades 1-6

The below courses are required for Elementary Education majors and can be fulfilled at NCMC as part of the AA requirements. If any of the below courses are not taken at NCMC, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of NCMC AA requirements can be found in the NCMC Catalog.
Students who transfer to UCM with a completed Associate in Arts degree are considered to have met all general education requirements, except those required specifically for the major (see UCM General Education Requirements below).
AA General Education Requirements: 46 Semester Hours
AA Open Electives: 14 Semester Hours
Choose from the following (any courses not completed at NCMC will be completed at UCM):
Minimum Total Hours Required for NCMC AA: 60 Semester Hours
*Must earn a 3.00 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a C in Professional Education courses.
UCM BSE Elementary Education: Grades 1-6
The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate in Arts degree. Any courses listed above not taken at NCMC must be completed as part of BSE requirements.
Major Requirements Clinical Pathway: 55 Semester Hours
Junior Block II: Methods for the Young Learner (Grades 1-3): 8 Semester Hours
Junior Block III: Methods for the Intermediate Learner (Grades 4-6): 8 Semester Hours
Senior Block I: Senior Experience: 14 Semester Hours
Non-Block Courses: 25 Semester Hours
Professional Education Requirements: 17 Semester Hours
Must earn a 3.00 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a C in Professional Education courses.
Student Teaching Semester:
General Education Requirements: 3 Semester Hours
The following course is required for Elementary Education majors and should be completed at UCM.
Minimum Total Hours Required for BSE: 120 Semester Hours
