Transfer Guide SFCC AA to UCM BS Political Science

The below courses are required for BS Political Science majors and can be fulfilled at SFCC as part of the AA requirements. If these courses are not taken at SFCC, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of SFCC AA requirements can be found in the SFCC catalog.
Students who transfer to UCM with an Associate of Arts degree are considered to have met all general education requirements at UCM, except for those specifically required by the major (see UCM General Education Requirements below, if applicable).
AA General Education Requirements: 42 Semester Hours
AA Elective Options: 22 Semester Hours
Minimum Total Hours Required for SFCC AA: 64 Semester Hours
UCM BS Political Science
The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate of Arts degree. Any courses listed above not taken at SFCC must be completed as part of the BS Political Science requirements.
Major Requirements: 36 Semester Hours
Select Three of the following four courses: 9 Semester Hours
Note:
Students must take one class from each of the three (3) area not chosen for their main area. Courses cannot be used in both the main area and additional areas.
POLS 1244, POLS 4590 , POLS 4591 , and POLS 4592 do not fulfill this requirement.
Students must earn twelve (12) hours of upper-level (3000/4000) credit in their major and thirty (30) hours overall. Choose major electives accordingly.
Electives from One of the Following Areas: 9 Semester Hours
Area 1 - American Politics
Area 2 - Public Law and Theory
Area 3 - Comparative Politics
