Transfer Guide MCC AAT to UCM BSE Elementary Education, Grades 1-6

The below courses are required for BSE Elementary Education majors and can be fulfilled at MCC as part of the AAT requirements. If these courses are not taken at MCC, they must be completed at UCM The full list of MCC AAT requirements can be found in the MCC Catolog.
Students who transfer to UCM with an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree are considered to have met all general education requirements at UCM, except for those specifically required by the major (see UCM General Education Requirements below, if applicable).
AAT General Education Requirements: 40-47 Semester Hours
AAT Program Requirements: 12 Semester Hours
AAT Electives: 8 Semester Hours
Minimum Total Hours Required for MCC AAT: 60-67 Semester Hours
*Must earn a 3.00 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a C in Professional Education courses.
UCM BSE Elementary Education
The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate in Arts Teaching degree. Any courses listed above not taken at MCC must be completed as part of BSE requirements.
Major Requirements Clinical Pathway: 49 Semester Hours
Junior Block II Methods for the Young Learner (Grades 1-3): 8 Semester Hours
Junior Block III Methods for the Intermediate Learner (Grades 4-6): 8 Semester Hours
Senior Block I Senior Experience: 14 Semester Hours
Non-Block Courses: 19 Semester Hours
Professional Education Requirements: 17 Semester Hours
Must earn a 3.00 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a C in Professional Education courses.
