Transfer Guide MAC AAS Paramedic Tech to UCM BS Crisis and Disaster Management


Mineral Area College


The below courses are required for BS Crisis and Disaster Management majors and can be fulfilled at Mineral Area College as part of the AAS Paramedic Technology requirements. If these courses are not taken at Mineral Area College, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of AAS requirements can be found in the Mineral Area Catalog.

Students who transfer to UCM with an AAS degree will need to complete the general education requirements at UCM. Some courses are outlined below. See UCM General Education Requirements listed at the bottom of the guide.

AAS General Education Requirements: 23 Semester Hours


The below courses required by the AAS Paramedic Technology degree at Mineral Area College fulfill general education requirements at UCM (listed in parentheses).

UCM BS Crisis and Disaster Management


The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate of Applied Science degree. Any courses listed above not taken at Mineral Area College must be completed as part of BS requirements.

General Education Requirements: 26-27 Semester Hours


The following General Education  requirements will need to be completed at UCM:

  • Foundational Skills: Writing II (3 hours)
  • Foundational Skills: Managing Information (2-3 hours)
  • Foundational Skills: Communication (3 hours)
  • Knowledge Area I (9 hours)
  • Knowledge Area II (3 hours)
  • Knowledge Area III (3 hours)
  • Elective (3 hours)

Minimum Total Hours Required for BS: 120 Semester Hours
