Transfer Guide MAC AAS Criminal Justice, Judicial Admin to UCM BS Criminal Justice and Criminology

The below courses are required for Criminal Justice and Criminology majors and can be fulfilled at MAC as part of the AAS Criminal Justice: Judicial Administration requirements. If these courses are not taken at MAC, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of MAC AAS requirements can be found in the MAC Catalog.
Students who transfer to UCM with a completed Associate of Applied Science will need to complete the general education program at UCM. Some courses are outlined below. See UCM General Education Requirements listed at the bottom of the guide.
AAS General Education Requirements: 21-22 Semester Hours
The below courses will be taken as part of the AAS requirements at MAC and fulfill UCM requirements (listed in parentheses).

- MAT 1270 Pre-Calc: Algebraic Reasoning (3) transfers as MATH 1111 - College Algebra GE (3) (Knowledge Area II)
- MAT 1205 Applications of College Math (3) transfers as GNED 1903 Transferred Mathematics (Knowledge Area II)
- MAT 1240 Quantitative Reasoning (3) transfers as GNED 1903 Transferred Mathematics (Knowledge Area II)
- MAT 1260 Elementary Statistics (3) transfers as GNED 1903 Transferred Mathematics (Knowledge Area II)
Science: 1 Course
- CRJ 1130 Intro to Forensic Science (3) transfers as ELCT L801 Lower Level CJ Elective (fulfills required CJ elective)
Computer Literacy: 1 Course

Minimum Total Hours Required for MAC AAS: 61-62 Semester Hours
UCM BS Criminal Justice and Criminology
The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate of Applied Science degree. Any courses listed above not taken at MAC must be completed as part of BS requirements.
Major Requirements: 17 Semester Hours
General Education Requirements: 22 Semester Hours
The following General Education requirements will need to be completed at UCM:
- Foundational Skills: Writing II (3 hours) *depending on transfer course completed
OR
- Foundational Skills: Communication (3 hours) *depending on transfer course completed
- Knowledge Area I (9 hours)
- Knowledge Area II (7 hours)
- Elective (3 hours)
Free Choice Electives: 19-20 Semester Hours
Free choice elective hours may vary depending on transfer coursework and course selection at UCM. Must include upper-level hours.*
*Students must complete 30 hours of upper-level (3000/4000) coursework. Courses taken at MAC that transfer to UCM as upper-level courses do not count towards upper-level hours.
Minimum Total Hours Required for BS: 120 Semester Hours
