Transfer Guide NCMC AAT to UCM BSE Elementary Education: Grades 1-6


North Central Missouri College


The below courses are required for Elementary Education majors and can be fulfilled at NCMC as part of the AAT requirements. If any of the below courses are not taken at NCMC, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of NCMC AAT requirements can be found in the NCMC Catalog.​

Students who transfer to UCM with a completed Associate of Arts in Teaching degree are considered to have met all general education requirements, except those required specifically for the major (see UCM General Education Requirements below).

AAT General Education Requirements: 42 Semester Hours


AAT Required Teacher Education Core Courses: 13 Semester Hours


AAT Electives: 7 Semester Hours


Minimum Total Hours Required for NCMC AAT: 63 Semester Hours


*Must earn a 3.00 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a C in Professional Education courses.

UCM BSE Elementary Education: Grades 1-6


The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree. Any courses listed above not taken at NCMC must be completed as part of BSE requirements.

Major Requirements Clinical Pathway: 55 Semester Hours


Professional Education Requirements: 17 Semester Hours


Must earn a 3.00 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a C in Professional Education courses.

General Education Requirements: 3 Semester Hours


The following course is required for Elementary Education majors and should be completed at UCM.

Minimum Total Hours Required for BSE: 120 Semester Hours
