Transfer Guide Crowder AS Occupational Therapy Assistant to UCM BS Health Studies

Crowder College
The below courses are required for Health Studies majors and can be fulfilled at Crowder as part of the AS Occupational Therapy Assistant requirements. If any of the below courses are not taken at Crowder, they must be completed at UCM. The full list of AS requirements can be found in the Crowder College catalog.
Students who transfer to UCM with a completed Associate of Science degree will need to complete the general education requirements at UCM. See the UCM General Education Requirements listed at the bottom of this guide.
AS General Education Requirements: 29 Semester Hours
The below courses required by the AS OTA degree at Crowder fulfill general education/major requirements at UCM.
- ENGL 101 English Composition (3) transfers as ENGL 1020 - Composition I GE (3) (Foundational Skills: Writing I)
- COMM 104 Fundamentals of Speech (3) transfers as COMM 1000 - Public Speaking GE (3) (Foundational Skills: Communication)
- The combination of BIOL 152 & 252 Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II (10 hours) transfers as BIOL 3401 - Human Anatomy (3: 1 lecture, 2 lab) AND BIOL 3402 - Human Physiology (5: 4 lecture, 1 lab) * (required for major)
- Mathematics - Choose 3 hours from: MATH 125, MATH 130, or MATH 135 (Knowledge Area II)
- Social/Behavioral Science - PSYC 101 (PSY 1100 )* is required for this major. Choose 3 additional hours from: HIST 106, HIST 107, or PLSC 103 (Knowledge Area III)
- Humanities - Choose 3 hours from: ART 101, ASL 101, ASL 102, ENGL 109, ENGL 120, ENGL 125, FREN 101, MUSC 101, PHIL 101, SPAN 101, or TA 205 (Knowledge Area I)
AS Program Requirements: 44 Semester Hours

Minimum Total Hours Required for Crowder AS: 73 Semester Hours
*A grade of “C” or better is required for Major courses.
UCM BS Health Studies
The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate of Science degree. Any courses listed above not taken at Crowder College must be completed at UCM.
Major Requirements: 58 Semester Hours
A grade of “C” or better is required for Major courses.
Approved Electives: 9 Semester Hours
Approved electives require approval from the Health Studies program which result in a minor, certificate or prepare students for a certification or graduate school program.
A grade of “C” or better is required for Approved Electives.
General Education Requirements: 24-26 Semester Hours
The following General Education requirements will need to be completed at UCM.
Minimum Total Hours Required for BS: 120 Semester Hours
