Transfer Guide MCC AAT to UCM BSE Elementary Education, Grades 1-6

AAT General Education Requirements: 41-47 Semester Hours

The below courses can be taken as part of the general education program at MCC. If these courses are not taken at MCC, they must be completed at UCM.

• POLS 136 Introduction to US National Politics transfers as  POLS 1510 - American Government GE (3)

AAT Program Requirements: 12 Semester Hours

The below courses are required for the BSE Elementary Education majors and may be taken as part of the 12 required hours for the AAT degree at MCC. If these courses are not taken at MCC, they must be completed at UCM.

AAT Electives: 8 Semester Hours

The below courses are required at UCM as part of the BSE Elementary Education program and may be completed at MCC as part of the 8 elective hours. If not taken at MCC, they must be completed at UCM.

Minimum Total Hours Required for MCC AAT: 61-67 Hours

Major Requirements Clinical Pathway: 47 Semester Hours

Professional Education Requirements: 17 Semester Hours

Must earn a 3.00 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a C in Professional Education courses.

• ECEL 4400 - Classroom Management and Interactions (3)
• EDFL 2250 - Introduction to English Language Learners and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy (2)

General Education Requirements: 6 Semester Hours

The following general education classes are required for this major:

• MATH 1620 - Introduction to Geometry and Decision Making for Educators GE (3)
• MATH 1820 - Introduction to Numbers and Operations for Educators GE (3)

Minimum Total Hours Required for BSE: 124 Semester Hours

*Must earn a 3.00 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a C in Professional Education courses.
