Transfer Guide JCCC AA to UCM BSE Elementary Education: Early Childhood Birth-Grade 3

The below courses are required for BSE Elementary Education majors and can be fulfilled at JCCC as part of the AA degree requirements. The full list of JCCC AA degree requirements can be found in the JCCC catalog.

AA General Education Requirements: 30 Semester Hours


The below courses are required for students pursuing a degree in Elementary Education and can be taken as part of the AA general education program at JCCC. If these courses are not taken at JCCC, they must be completed at UCM.

All students must complete a minimum of 42 credit hours in general education. Some majors require additional hours due to required coursework. See The General Education Program Requirements  for full listing of requirements at UCM. 

AA Elective Options: 30 Semester Hours


The below courses are required for BSE Elementary Education majors and may be taken as part of the 30 required elective hours for the AA degree at JCCC. If these courses are not taken at JCCC, they must be completed at UCM.

Minimum Total Hours Required for JCCC AA: 60 Semester Hours


UCM BSE Elementary Education: Early Childhood Birth-Grade 3


The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate of Arts degree. Any courses listed above not taken at JCCC must be completed as part of BSE requirements.

Major Requirements Clinical Pathway: 52 Semester Hours


Professional Education Requirements: 20 Semester Hours


Must earn a 3.00 GPA or higher with no grade lower than a C in Professional Education courses.

General Education Requirements: 3 Semester Hours


The following general education courses are required for the major and should be taken at UCM.

Minimum Total Hours Required for BSE: 120 Semester Hours
