Transfer Guide MCC AA to UCM BA Music

The below courses are required for Music majors and can be fulfilled at MCC as part of the AA requirements. If the below courses are not taken at MCC they must be complete at UCM. The full list of MCC AA requirements can be found in the MCC Catalog.
Students who transfer to UCM with a completed Associate in Arts degree will be considered to have met all general education requirements except for those specificaly required by the major (see UCM General Education Requirements section below, if applicable).
AA General Education Requirements: 42 Semester Hours
AA Elective Options: 14 Semester Hours
AA General Degree Requirements: 4 Semester Hours

Minimum Total Hours Required for MCC AA: 60 Hours
UCM BA Music
The below list of courses represents the requirements a student will have left to complete after transferring to UCM with an Associate in Arts degree. Any courses listed above not taken at MCC must be completed as part of BA requirements.
Major Requirements: 23-25 Semester Hours
Minor Requirements: 18-25 Semester Hours
General Education Requirement: 3 Semester Hours
The following general education course is required for this major and should be taken at UCM.
Note:
MUS 1210 - Experiencing Music GE (3) cannot be counted in the Music Degree Major courses or General Education courses.
Major large ensembles cannot count toward General Education for the Music Major.
Modern Language Requirement: 0-9 Semester Hours
Modern language requirement can be fulfilled at MCC with completion of 10 hours of Spanish, French, or German coursework (see above).
Refer to Academic Program Requirements section for other fulfillment options.
Free Choice Electives: 0-16 Semester Hours
Free choice electives may vary depending on transfer coursework and course selection at UCM.
Students must take at least 30 upper-level (3000/4000) hours to graduate. Courses taken at MCC that articulate to upper-level UCM courses do not count towards upper-level hours.
Minimum Total Hours Required for BA: 120 Semester Hours
